Shirdi is a small town located at a certain distance from Mumbai. It is situated at the heart of the sugarcane belt of Maharashtra. It is one of the most well-known places for pilgrimage. It is home to the venerated sage, Sai Baba. This is one of the top-notch destinations for pilgrims. He is worshipped for his compassionate nature, miraculous healing powers and prudent preaching. Sai Baba Temple, Shirdi

The main temple comprises of a tomb and the idol of Sai Baba. He is believed to have spent most of his time in this place. The temple is made of white marble and the idol is seated in a beautifully decorated throne with coloured umbrellas hanging over. This is one of the top places to visit in Shirdi.

Shri Kandoba Mandir, Shirdi

This temple is an important landmark in Shirdi because it is believed that Sai Baba first visited here when he entered this place. It was the priest of this temple that first called him by this name. It is one of the oldest temples in the area, and dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Dwarkamayee Masjid, Shirdi

On the right side of the temple, there is a masjid where Baba spent most of his time, and devotees shared their grievances. The mosque was named by Baba himself and he shared sacred ashes with his devotees. It is certainly a prominent place for Shirdi sightseeing.

Chavadi, Shirdi

It is located within the premises of the temple, and is only a stone throw distance from the temple. It consists of two rooms where Baba is said to have spent his nights. You will find a wooden plank, a wheel chair and a cushion. It was here where his body was washed before burial.

Lendi Bagh, Shirdi

It was once a wasteland, but currently it has been transformed into a beautiful garden. The contribution of Sai Baba again deserves mention. The towering trees and blooming flower gardens have made it one of the best places to see near Shirdi. A Peepal tree is the major landmark of the garden. Apart from that, there are other memorial sights in the garden namely Datta Mandir and Baba’s horse. This is definitely an important place for vsiting.

Gurusthan, Shirdi

It was the place where Baba was seen for the first time. A neem tree is found here, and it is this spot where Baba took his Samadhi. The place today comprise of a huge Neem tree along with an old portrait of Baba and silver impressions of his feet. This is a calm and peaceful place to visit near Shirdi. Hence, you should surely come here.

Dixit Wada Museum, Shirdi

It is a renowned destination in Shirdi. The museum comprises of personal belongings of Sai Baba ranging from clothes, utensils, pipes, footwear, and gramophone records. A stone grinding machine is also located at the museum. The machine represents Baba’s philosophy that Dharma and Bhakti come together for salvation. It is visited by people round the year.

The Maruti Mandir, Shirdi

This temple is also known as Hanuman Mandir and is surrounded by a circular railing. The temple comprises of idols of Lord Hanuman on both the sides. It is one of the oldest temples in Shirdi, and is also one of the few temples facing the south. This is one of the prominent tourist places near Shirdi.

Abdul baba Cottage, Shirdi

Abdul Baba Cottage is located opposite side of Chavadi. Abdul Baba was one of the keen followers of the Sai Baba. This is an small green coloured cottage. This is an amazing place to visit in Shirdi.

House of Laxmibai Shinde, Shirdi

House of Laxibai Shinde is a House of Laxmibai, only devotee of Sai Baba, who were with him when he was passed away. This house has lots of memories of Laxmibai and Sai Baba.

Shri Ganesh Temple, Shirdi

Shri Ganesha Temple is one of the renowned temples in Shirdi, dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple is located in the same lane of Samadhi Temple.

Jangli Maharaj Ashram, Shirdi

Jangli Maharaj Ashram is the Ashram and co-educational and residential school for children, which is managed by spiritual guru Om Gurudev. This Ashram is located on Shirdi Manmad State Highway. This is the best place to visit near Shirdi.

Shri Tatya Kote Samadhi, Shirdi

Shri Tatya Kote Samadhi is located near Lendi Baug. He was one of the most dedicated followers of Sai Baba. This place is one of the important places to see in Shirdi.
