Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan

Bhangarh Fort is a huge place which is located in Aravali ranges of the Jodhpur district. It was built in the 17th century by Madho Singh 1. At present, the fort is vacant and banned from the visit due to haunted stories from the past. In fact, some people refrain from stepping into the Bhangarh village itself due to the fear of ghosts wandering in the entire area.

However, there are some adventure seekers and enthusiasts who still visit the fort and dismiss the haunted stories. The fort can be visited anytime of the year, but summers in the district are extremely hot. Duasa railway head is close by the fort, located at a distance of 22 kms only.

Neemrana Fort, Rajasthan

Neemrana Fort reflects the majesty of the state. It is an ancient fort located in the popular Alwar district. It is situated at a hillock and offers breathtaking beauty of the entire district. The fort also has a luxurious hotel which is open for the classy tourists for accommodation.

The fort is open all round the year for the visitors. There are many other interesting spots to check out nearby such as Sariska tiger sanctuary, Jaisamand Lake, Deeg, Rajgarh, temples and other sights. It is located on the Delhi Jaipur highway and is just 71 km away from the Alwar station.

Amer Fort, Rajasthan

The royal architecture of the olden times is perfectly portrayed in Amer Fort, which is one of the most popular and top Rajasthan forts. It is situated in the Amer town, and is built from white marble, pink sandstone and pale yellow stones. The fort is built in beautiful artistic style and offers a view of Maota Lake in the front. October to February is the ideal season to visit the fort as the temperature will be cool. Merta Road station is nearby the fort, at a distance of 8km.

Mehrangarh Fort, Rajasthan

It is counted as a largest fort in the entire state of Rajasthan. It was built in 1459 on a high hill of 410 m and has seven gates to it. It is located in Jodhpur and is one of the most popular and interestingly made forts of Rajasthan. There are many more attractions near by the fort such as Moti Mahal, Sringar Chowki, and other temples and galleries all around. Winter season is the ideal time to visit the fort, and it can be reached from Jodhpur station which is close by.

Chittorgarh Fort, Rajasthan

It is a glorious fort located at a height of 300 ft and covers a terrain region of 700 acres of land. Chittorgarh Fort comes under largest hill forts of Rajasthan list. It was built in 7th century in Chittorgarh and can be easily reached from the Udaipur city. The fort portrays heroism memories of various Rajputanas who fought in many battles. From the top of the fort, the look below looks stunning.

Monsoon and winters are the best time to check out Chittorgarh, which is from July to March. The fort can be reached from any major city of Rajasthan, and the nearest rail head is Chittorgarh station.

Jaisalmer Fort, Rajasthan

It is the historical and most famous forts of Rajasthan. The local name of the fort is Sonar Quila as it is made from the sand stones. The fort has a glorious heritage and history of the past, and is second oldest fort in the state. It has also been included in the world heritage sites by UNESCO. October to March or monsoon and winter months are the idea time to check out the Jaisalmer fort. The Jaisalmer station is just 1 km away from the fort and it is an easy medium to reach the fort.

Jaigarh Fort, Rajasthan

The fort is known to be very well maintained till date and was constructed to protect the Amer Palace which is secretly connected through the underground tunnels. It was constructed in the year 1726 and is built on Aravali ranges, particularly on Cheel ka teela.  The locals know the fort by the name of Victory Fort. The Jaigarh Fort is open in all seasons but winter months can be ideal as summers are too hot in Rajashan. Merta Roas railway station is only at a distance of 8 km from the fort.

Nahargarh Fort, Rajasthan

The construction of the fort was started in 1734 and stretched up to 1868. The architecture style of the Nahargarh fort is Indo European which is still preserved and well maintained. It is located up in the mountains of Aravalli and offers stunning scenes of the city. It has a royal terrace from where the beautiful city of Jaipur looks vibrant. The fort is open for the visitors on all days of the year, but November to February can be the best months. Jaipur railway station is not very far from the fort, the distance is just 5 to 6 km away.

Kumbhalgarh Fort, Rajasthan

It comes in the important list of forts in Rajasthan, which is situated in the Rajasmand district which is 64 kms away from Udaipur. It was built in 15th century by Maharana Kumbha. It s a huge fort and has a lot of monuments such as Ganesh temple, Parsvanatha temple, Mamadeo temple, Badal Mahal, Kumbha Palace and many others. The fort offers light and sound show for the visitors, and hence it is advised to visit the fort in winter and monsoons. Falna station is close by the fort at a distance of 36 km only.

Ranthambore Fort, Rajasthan

The fort is popular in the historical Rajasthan forts list. It is a hill fort located in the Ranthambore Road. It is included in the world heritage site list. The view from the hill top of the fort is amazing, and even birds can be spotted from the highest point. The fort has a great history behind it and attracts a lot of visitors. Expect summer months, other seasons are favorable for the visit. The nearest station to the fort is Sawai Madhopur station which is just 10 km away from the fort.
