Bhangarh Fort

Carved out beautifully in the Aravalli range of Jodhpur district, Bhangarh Fort has been standing tall since the 17th century. The Duasa railway station is the nearest railway station which is at a distance of 22 kms from the fort. It is one of the best known forts in India.  Although it is relatively hot during summer, the fort can be visited any time of the year. As a result of the haunted stories in the air about this place visits to this fort have been stopped in the current day.

Neemrana Fort

This ancient fort is located in the famous Alwar district and is located on a small hill. The luxurious hotel in Neemrana Fort is also an attraction of the place. For its visitors, the doors to the fort are open all through the year. The nearby attractions include Deeg, Rajgarh shrines, Sariska tiger sanctuary, Jaisamand Lake etc. It is 71 kms away from the Alwar station and is situated on the Delhi Jaipur highway. This has made its place as one of the great forts in India.

Amer Fort

The Amer fort, the biggest fort in India is ready to display its royal architecture portrayed explicitly in Rajasthan’s Amer town. The best time for treating one’s eyes to see this fort is during October to February. Merta Road station is the nearest station which is approximately 8 kms away. The fort is build up of pink sandstone, pale yellow stones and white marble.

Raigad Fort

This royal fort in India adorns Raigad districts Mahad region. The trekking facility available in Raigad Fort makes it an attraction. Raigad railway station is the nearest of all the stations. Any time is perfect to visit the fort apart from rainy season. A total of 3 hours might be consumed to reach the summit. The fort’s cornerstone was laid down in 1674 by Shivaji Maharaj.

Mehrangarh Fort

The best time to visit this largest fort in India fort built in Jodhpur in the year 1459 is winter season. The Mehrangarh Fort has seven gates, on a hill above 410 m and is nearest to the Jodhpur station. The nearby attractions also include places like Sringar Chowki, Moti Mahal etc.

Chittorgarh Fort

Constructed in the 7th century, the Chittorgarh Fort in Chittorgarh is one of the famous forts in India and can be reached in a hassle free way from the Udaipur city. The best time to visit this place is in winters and monsoon that is from July till the month of March. The nearest railway station is Chittorgarh railway station.

Jaisalmer Fort

The Jaisalmer Fort is the best fort in India at a distance of 1 km from the station. The best months to visit this place are from October to March. It is known for its splendid heritage and history.

Jaigarh Fort

The Jaigarh Fort was built to guard the Amer palace in 1726 and it secretly connects to the same through an underground tunnel. The local call the palace Victory Fort and is amongst the top 10 forts in India, which is open for its visitors throughout the year but winters are most ideal. The station Merta road station 8 kms aloof from the fort. The fort has been constructed on the Aravalli ranges.

Shivneri Fort

This fort is the birthplace of Shivaji Maharaj. This fort of Pune district is nearby Junnar. The nearest railway station is the Pune railway station and the least preferred seasons of all the seasons is rainy season. The Shivneri Fort is one of the old forts in India.

Nahargarh Fort

The years in between 1734 to 1868 saw the construction of the marvellous Nahargarh Fort. This fort located on the Aravalli should be visited preferably in the months of November to February. The railway station is just 5-6 kms away. It is one of the british forts in India. The glorious terrace of this fort is the place from where one can see the stunning Jaipur.

Janjira Fort

The coastal village of Murud is where Janjira Fort is situated. This fort dates back to the 17th century. The next door railway station is Roha railway station which forms a part of the Konkan railways. The best time for visiting this place is winter season.

Kumbhalgarh Fort

The Kumbhalgarh Fort, comes in the list of forts of India and is in the Rajasmand district that is nearly 64 kms far away from the beautiful Udaipur. This huge fort with monuments like Ganesha temple, mamadeo temple, Kumbha palace etc was built by Maharana Kumbha in 15th century. Light and sound shows are also available for the visitors. The Falna station is 36 kms away and the best time for visiting this place is during winters and monsoon.

Sindhudurg Fort

The 1664 AD saw the construction of Sindhudurg Fort by Shivaji Maharaj. Built in Malvan town, this fort can be easily reached by the Rajapur railway station also ferries are available to reach this place. All seasons apart from rainy season can be opted for visiting this place.

Panhala Fort

The Panhala Fort is in Panhala town that is in the Kolhapur district. This fort is also known by the names Panhalgad fort or Pahalla fort. It was in 1198 that this fort was brought into existence. The Kolhapur railway station is 27 kms apart from this place.

Vasai Fort

Also famous by the name Bassein Fort, the Vasai Fort is situated in the Vasai village. The 15th Century saw this fort coming in to existence. Vasai Railway station is the nearest and this fort can be visited anytime in a calendar year.
